Abundance Fishing Charter 13Nov21

DEEP SEA TUNA FISHING

This charter is one of our most memorable offerings.  A full day out at sea with large game fish on offer can become a life-changing experience for both the beginner and experienced angler.

The fishing grounds beyond Cape Point are word renowned for Tuna Fishing. We target the bigger species of pelagic fish like Yellowfin, Big Eye and Longfin Tuna.  Sometimes Dorado or Marlin get caught here too.  These large fish are known to put up an impressive fight, and when you land one of them you will remember it for the rest of your life.  You may even find yourself hooked and wanting to experience the thrill over and over again.

The best method to catch Tuna is either by trolling lures behind the boat or creating a chum line and fishing with bait while drifting in the current. Often, other pelagic fish like Skipjack, Katonkel and Dorado are landed in the same area.  From time to time we hook a Mako or Blue shark.  Although these fish will put up a memorable fight, we work on a strict catch and release basis for these fish types.

We recommend a very early departure or this outing in order to reach the prime fishing area approximately 40 nautical miles off Cape Point.  The sooner the departure, the more time you can spend trying to catch 'The Big One'.

We use top of the range Shimano reels and comfortable stand up harnesses.  We will keep your catch on ice and will gladly clean and fillet your catch when you return to shore.
